10 Months!

We took the kids to Mexico over Thanksgiving and we loved the trip.

-No teeth
-Pulling up on everything
-Would rather eat food off my plate than her baby food. Love to feed herself
-Wears size 3 diapers & 9-12 month clothes
-Chases the cat
-Learned that Adrian's spot at the table will generally have "treats" for her to find. She's constantly crawling under the table looking for Cherrios!
- Loves the ocean, beach, and pool. Especially the sand
She has a noise for Adrian that almost sounds like his name.
Says Momma and Dadda (not fully directed at people)
Sings
Starting to sign (a little... food)

She fits in perfectly with the flow of our family and we're so lucky that she's easy going. She loves getting to explore the house as she crawls everywhere, but fusses when she's done. She knows that she can get Mommy to pick her up pretty easily.

She loves to say "hi" to Daddy in the mornings and "sneak-up" on him in the shower to say hello! She loves getting to pet the kitty and in actually pretty gentle with him. Big brother is by far her favorite and when she wakes up in the morning, she immediately looks for him, She'll stop nuring if she hears him coming and gives him the biggest grin. She does "happy hands" where she claps/rubs her hands together whenever she is happy. Sometimes she also does "happy feet."
- wears 6 or 9 month clothes
- puts everything in her mouth. She's eaten some paper that I didn't catch,
- Love tennis shoes shoestrings - makes a beeline for them in the house. Also loves to chew on my flip-flops. (I've brought out a never worn pair for her to nom-nom on).
- any toy that Adrian has, she wants
- if a coffee cup is nearby, she will get it
- she's pulling up on us when we play on the floor
- loves to explore the bathroom in the morning while I get ready
- eating is her favorite
- girlfriend loves her paci (more than Adrian did) and her elephant. She's also adopted one of Adrian's monkey's as well
Isabelle rolled from her stomach to her back on Sat 5/28 at home for the first time! Rich and I were so excited. She loves to be around people and won't let us eat dinner at the table without her. We used to let her play in the jungle while we ate, but she now wants to be with the family. Generally shes fine sitting in her teddy boucy chair, but some nights she wants to be held.

Some quick background - Due to my c-section with Adrian, our doctor said I was a great candidate for a VBAC.... so long as everything went perfectly! Also, he didn't want me to go much past my due date and would not induce me. So if "Dos" wasn't born by my 40 week appointment (the Monday following my due date), we would schedule another c-section.

I was due on January 30, 2016. At our 39 week appointment on Janaury 25th there was no signs of labor beginning. Really no contactions were happening and my cervix wasn't opened at all! At that appointment we decided to schedule a c-section and our doctor told us he would look at the hospital's schedule and give us a call.

Well after the appointment, Richard and I discussed it some more and decided to give Dos one more weekend before we scheduled anything. Our doctor (who is extremely supportive) thought that was a great idea! I finished up the week and work and my supervisor and VP told me not to come back on Monday ("enjoy the time until baby comes"). I left work with a clean desk expecting to have a c-section the next week because still nothing was happening.

Richard and I had our normal Friday night date night scheduled and decided to go to a movie since it would be the last one for a while. We left Adrian with Noni and off we went with the usual, "love you Adrian, see you in the morning." We went to Tokyo Joe's for dinner and then headed to Cinnebar to watch "The 5th Wave." As we sat down in the theater, I noticed some mild cramping but this was nothing unusual, so I didn't say anything to Richard. The previews started and the cramping continued (again nothing too bad). As the previews were ending though, I had a coughing fit and my water broke (755pm)! I leaned over to Rich:

S - I think my water just broke.
R - Are you sure?
S - Yep, pretty sure. Or I just peed myself A LOT!
R - Why don't you go to the bathroom and check?
S - Ok

And we packed up. Walking out of the theater, contractions started intensely and I had to stop half-way to the bathroom and hold onto the wall. (Rich had gone to tell the theather people what had happened, and wasn't with me). I verified that my water did indeed break... I mean my pants were SOAKED all the way to my knees.... and it was time to go to the hospital. Rich came back and found me leaning against the wall again (contraction) and off we went. Thankfully we had to forsight to ask for a trash bag for his seat - it would have been ruined had we not.

On the way to the hospital, Rich called the doctor and asked me to tell him when a contraction started.... they were 3 minutes part. Neither one of us could believe it! We got to the hospital's ER enterance, walked in, and the ladies at the front desk took one look and me and said "Yep, she's definitely in labor." At which point I burst into tears. They brought a wheelchair and up we went to labor and delivery. All the rooms were full or being cleaned when we arrived, so they took us to the same recovery room that we had been in after Adrian was born and got me hooked up. Already 3 cm dialated at 830pm! Richard called my mom and told her what was happening and asked if she could spend the night with A and then called my sister to bring us the hospital bag (that was at home rather than in the car). About an hour later we were transferred to our room. Upon arriving there, the contractions were about 2 minutes apart and quite intense. I told Rich that I couldn't keep up with this pace and needed the epidural! About that time, I also threw-up all my dinner while having contractions.... but after that, the contractions slowed back done to every 3-4 minutes. I got the epidual and was much happier! Grace and Kyle came by with the bag and chatted for a while. We all laughed that of course I would go into labor during date night. At 1030p, G&K left and the nurse checked me again and I was at 7cm! They told me to get some sleep and they would check back. I really didn't sleep much due to acid reflux and maybe got an hour. At 2am, I was fully dialated! We decided to let me "labor down" for an hour before pushing. Only problem was, the machine to track contractions wasn't registering any and I couldn't feel any! So we turned down the epidural and Dr Yeash had to help me manually feel the contractions. We tried everything, but nothing worked to get the machine to pick them up, so it was time to push (315am) and I had to do it all by feel - no one could help by telling me when was one was coming. After 40 minutes of pushing, our daughter was born at 355am! We had requested that Richard be the one to tell me if it was a boy or girl, so baby comes out and Dr Yeash looks at Richard and says - "So?..." and Richard, in his 4am daze, looks and said "It's a Girl?" Definitely said it as a question - haha! We were both thrilled!! She was immediately put on my chest where she was free to nurse as she wanted. She barely cried and immediately relaxed into me. The nurses were a little concerned about not crying, but eventually she did and the nurses were fine. They were able to do much of the testing and cleaning with her on me... she did poop on me (little stinker!)
Dy Yeash had to spend 2 hours sewing me up and could not get one tear to stop bleeding, so had to call in a vascular surgeon. Eventually, they got me all sewed up, but had to "pack the area" with gauze and leave it there for 6 hours to help with the bleeding. While they were sewing me up, Rich called/texted the family.
Perfect! Richard got to hold her for a bit then we all crashed at 615am. I slept until 730 am and baby girl was ready to eat again.

Like with Adrian, we didn't finalize her name for 24 hours... but we were pretty sure it would be Isabelle. Her middle name took forever to decide on and we ulimately let Adrian decide (between Lindsey, Sophia, or Paige - otherwise he would have chosen something like Carter or Spiderman).
- LOVES her big brother. She lights up when she sees him and tracks him around the room. The love is mutual - Adrian adores Isabelle and is so excited when he can get her to smile
- Coos and talks to us!
- Started daycare on 4/25
- Loves her jungle and teddy seat. She has times where she tells us to put her down (don't hold me - I want to play)
- Found her hands and the kitty
- Enjoys her bath, but HATES getting out and having lotion put on
- Does great in the car seat and will generally fall asleep. This is great since we have a long drive to daycare (25 mins)
- Still sleeping in the bassinet next to Mommy
The difference in scale showed that she only gains 1 oz in 5 days (yikes) I took her to the doctor the next day (9 weeks old) and she weighted 10 lbs 15oz ( a gain of 4 oz during the week). Much better and I was relieved. I started to feed her on the left side first everytime and then the right and she eats just fine.
But happy news to share - Adrian will be a big brother in January! I'm 20 weeks along and baby is perfect - we could not be happier. We also bought a new house!

I had a few blog posts drafted, but never posted them. One was about our miscarriage last year. I feel as though I should spend a brief bit of time discussing it. Last October, we went in for our first pre-natal appointment only to find that the baby was measuring small, no movement, and no heartbeat. We lost our child and with that a piece of our hearts. We'll never know the gender or what was wrong. I think coming off that experience, we've been slow to share the news of a new baby and definitely had anxiety the first trimester.

With this baby, whom P-pa has decided to call "Dos," we had bloodwork done at 10 weeks and Baby's DNA is perfect. We could have found out the gender, but have decided to wait until the birth. Off subject, but how amazing is it that science has progressed to the point where it can isolate Baby's DNA from my blood!

With that, I'll start doing some pregnancy updates as I have enjoyed those from Adrian.

20 Weeks Along ... 1/2 Way

This pregnancy is flying by and luckily I have felt great. Like Adrian, I didn't have any morning sickness, but am already experiencing acid reflux. My baby bump definitely pooped out eariler than last time (as I expected), and I'm already feeling baby move (starting at 18 weeks). I'm still doing BodyPump 1-2 days a week and feel great. I spent the first trimester exhausted. Seriously, I would Adrian to bed at 7pm and then myself to bed by 7:30/8pm most nights. So far in the second trimester, I've had more energy but still like a nap or early bedtime a few days a week. I've also gained 10 pounds so far - right on schedule for the 30 pound "goal"

Baby is about 10 1/2 oz now and 10 inches from head to heel. About the size of a banana. This week marks the change from measuring head to bottom to measuring head to heel :)

Baby is practicing swallowing and is now producing meconium (black poo that is first seen with new borns).

Yep - I started pretty early on the maternity pants and shorts. I can still get away with some non-maternity shirts, but I'm going for comfort these days. Thus far I've only bought 1 pair of jeans and 1 pair of shorts. I'm sure I'll be buying more, but I still have all the maternity clothes from my pregnancy with Adrian.

I don't think I have any new ones. Some developed after Adrian was born, but honestly, they don't bug me. I'm putting lotion on a few days a week but not worrying about it.

In looking through pics to add since I last posted, there are a ton! I won't include them all :)
Elmo Birthday Cake - Thanks Gaga!

We had his 2 year doc appointment and kiddo is 24.4lbs (9%) for weight and 34 inches tall (61%). Assuming that you double your height at 2, then Adrian will be approximately 5'10". I suspect he'll be taller than that, but we'll see.
He has started out to be a true 2 year old. We hear almost daily, "No, Mine!" He wants to do everything himself, but he also wants to play with us. The other night, we were playing and Richard changed it up and Adrian told him "No, Look" and pointed to where Daddy was supposed to look.
Allergy testing (round 1) - he was such a champ!

In November, Adrian had an allergic reaction to peanut butter at daycare causing a trip to urgent care. He was fine after some medicine, but it resulted in a trip to the allergist. As we assumed, he is allergic to milk, peanuts, all tree nuts, seasame oil/seeds, cats, and dogs. Poor kiddo - but he did great. They finished the testing and once we got home, I realized they didn't test for the evironmental items, so we had to go back the next day for round 2, again, he did great. We got to watch Elmo while we waited, so Adrian was a happy kid. Since then, we have discovered Sunflower butter as a substitute for peanut/almond butter and we have to read all the ingredient listings on everything! There have been a few times that we've messed this up and caused a minor reaction. Luckily, it's not life threatening if he only has a little bit, but we still have an epi-pen with us all this time.

We DAILY say that we cannot believe how much Adrian has grown and changed. He is all toddler and such a joy. We're reminding ourselves, that parenting is a daily thing and we need to be consistent with it. We're fortunate that our little man is really pretty easy. On Sat June 15, he had his first temper tantrum... my my, I could hardly hold in my laugh. Adrian pointed his finger at me and yelled "No, No, No!" and stomped his feet. He was mad at me because I would not let him turn my mom's printer on and off a million times and closed him out of the office. We grabbed his hand a led him to the living room to play with something else and he was fine.

He's learning how to communicate with us and loves to go to the playground.

We've been working on sign language with him and it's been great to have that communication tool. Currently, Adrian signs (it seems like he signs more than this, but I can't come up with more):
- please
- thank you
- apple
- keys
- corn
- all done
- eat / hungry
- more
We love our little man!!Sarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00478119679805898381noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4499799243729942508.post-9205625885157080752013-06-17T17:20:00.001-06:002013-06-17T17:20:15.967-06:00Fathers' Day 2013Happy 2nd Fathers' Day to Richard!

We had a fun-filled weekend where I feel like we packed 5 days into 2 days. We have Adrian back in swim lessons and he LOVES the pool.... the problem is that the lessons are during nap time so this week, Adrian just about fell asleep on my shoulder in the pool. We talked to our instructor about this and he was able to pull some stings for us to get into the 9am class! Thank you, thank you, Harrison!

Uncle K's bday was on the 12th, so we followed swim (and nap) with a BBQ at my mom's to celebrate. We ended up staying until 7pm with her and even hit up her pool after Adrian's afternoon nap! Both Richard and I were exhausted, so we went home, put A to bed, and took a 20 nap ourselves. We still had lots to do to prep for the next day, so we couldn't just go to bed.

Fathers' Day! We had a great breakfast with Grand-Nana and Nanasita in Boulder. Adrian was so well behaved, we could hardly believe it! Adrian insisted on getting Richard some tools for Father's day, and Dada was happy to get them. Adrian colored a picture and got him some nuts... b/c "I'm Nuts about you Dad" (haha) Thanks Daycare!

Richard and I then sent Adrian home with Nanasita for naps while we headed up to Estes Park for our valentine's day gift of horseback riding. We made a full day out of it and stopped at our wedding venue to walk around and reminisce. We went to some of our favorite Estes locations then hit up the ranch for the ride. We both really enjoyed it and want to take Adrian up. I think he would love the horses and experience.

To finish off the weekend, my Dad came into town for a work meeting, so we grabbed dinner with him. Overall, it was a great weekend to celebrate our Dada!

Also, happy 4 year anniversary Love!
We did take some video, though, but nothing with me and my boy.

On Saturday morning, we headed up to Boulder to take a little hike - just the 3 of us. Adrian loved being outside, but he wanted to walk rather than be in the backpack on my back. We let me down twice to walk around and explore a bit and he loved it. We hope to re-arrange the yard work schedule, so we can spend Saturday mornings having family time - so many more hikes to come.

After church on Sunday, we went to Nana's to celebrate all the moms: Nana, my Mom, and me. We all pitched in to have a great pot roast meal complete with Angel food cake. Nana requested that we plant flowers for her for Mother's day, so we did just that and her yard looked great when we were done. Adrian played with the puppy and kept Nana busy while we were planting, so it was a success.

Happy Mother's Day!

My Boo (grandfather) unexpected passed away on Feb 15 and I've been reminded on how precious the little moments in life are. We've been spending extra time as a family and not worrying as much about the tidiness of our house. We've had extra family in town and have been trying to figure out what the future looks like.

Boo slipped and hit his head in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on Feb 7 causing a severe head injury. He and Nana were set to fly home the next day after waiting for some official forms from the Mexican government. We had a weekend full of celebration planned (Adrian's birthday) and could not wait to see them. My mom flew down as soon as she heard that he fell and together with my Nana, they made a plan to fly him back to Colorado, via air ambulance. We are incredibly fortunate to have friends in the medical field, who assisted in getting everything set-up, reviewed CAT scans, and provided the insight needed. Once back in Colorado, they took him off the sedatives to determine what the damage was - and it wasn't good. Within 18 hours, they told us that the expected level of brain activity wasn't there and he was brain-dead. Nana made the hardest decision in the world to take him off life-support, but that was his wish - he didn't want to be a vegetable. So on Friday, Feb 15th life support was removed and my Boo passed away shortly after. We were by his side the whole time, loving him to the end.

My Nana and Boo spent 56 years together and were truly each other's best friend. I had the amazing opportunity to grow up in the same town as them and spent every holiday and special event with them. I can't remember any special event that they were not apart of. I have the unique opportunity to know them not just as grandparents, but as great friends. Richard and I have sought them out for opinions and advice, gone to dinner with them just to enjoy their company, and spent many hours playing cards together. We treasured any time that we got to spend with them and the time that Adrian got to spend with Boo.

My Nana and Boo did marriage right. I'm sure they had their troubles, but they deeply cared for one another. We would see them occasionally pick at each other, but it was always in a playful, loving manner. In the last few moments of Boo's life, I witnessed my Nana's heart break. He was taken off life support and once his heart rate was 0, my Nana leaned over and whispered something in his ear. Boo's heart rate jumped-up again, for just a few moments, but I think he knew that the love of his life was talking to him.

My Boo was a trouble-maker and the life of the party. He was a music teacher for many years and retired in the early 90's. He played in and with many bands and even some big name musicians. He instilled a love a music in his daughters and grand-children. Below is his obituary (edited for privacy):
Investigations are underway, but initially everything points to the unlicensed daycare provider. Out of respect for copyright - I did not include his picture, but he's one cute kiddo!

Before becoming a mom, an article like this would have touched my heart and made me sad for a few moments. That sounds terrible but now, being a mom, this article has stopped me in my tracks, my chest literally hurts, and tears coming streaming from my eyes. This is heart-breaking.

I cannot imagine what Leyton's parents are going through and honestly, I don't want to imagine it. Leaving your heathly, happy baby boy with someone you should be able to trust so you can go to work is hard enough. But then having this happen, getting that phone call telling you to go to the hospital. I don't know what that day looked like for his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles - did they get to interact with Leyton, tell him they loved him, hold and cuddle him. And then, being told your baby is brain dead and having to make the choice to take him off life support. It would kill me.

I recently had to live through taking a loved one off life-support. I haven't shared it here, I've started a post, but haven't finished it. The pertinent information here, is that my Boo slipped and hit his head which ultimately resulted in him being brain-dead. My Nana did the hardest thing in the world (and the right thing) to choose to take him off life support. I was there. My family was there. My Nana, aunt, mom, sister, and I never left his side. We sang to him, talked to him, and loved him. It was the hardest thing I've ever done. Once we took him off life-support, it took 2 hours for him to pass. The hardest 2 hours ever. We were assured that he felt nothing and there was no pain, but it didn't sound that way. It sounded like every breath was hard. In reading this article, I have the comfort knowing that Boo lived a full, happy life.

According to the article, Leyton survived for a week without machines before passing.

A week! A week of the unimaginable. A week knowing that your babies current breath could be his last. A week thinking of all the moments you'll never get and all the moments that you didn't hold dear enough. He didn't get that full life that Boo did, but I hope and imagine that it was a happy life. From the pictures included in the article, he sure looks happy.

I don't know his family, but I want to wrap my arms around you and love you. So consider this a virtual hug. I know that no words will comfort you and any words will just sound trivial. So, I am crying with you and for you. I'm praying for you. The next few minutes, hours, days, months, and years will be hard - lean on those who love you and take life moment by moment. Even if it is just to remember to breath in, then tell yourself to breath out.

I started the day by singing happy birthday to him when I went to get him out of his crib. He had no idea what was going on, but enjoyed the attention.

We spent a good portion of the day party prepping. Thanks to my amazing family for all their help in the prep, set-up, and host category. We could not have done it without you all.

Adrian loved the party, the CAKE, and thought the new toys were pretty cool.

- 30.5 inches long (75th percentile)
- Crawling everywhere! Adrian has mastered going up and down the stairs. He pulls up whenever he can and will balance for a few seconds. He started a new crawl where he is up on his feet rather than his knees.

- Wants to eat anything that we're eating - and if it's off my plate (rather than his own), all the better
- We think he may have a dairy intolerance, but not sure yet. I can drink milk and it doesn't affect him.
- Still breastfeeding. He knows where the milk is and has started to pull on my shirt when he wants milk.
- Loves trucks and music.
- Wears size 9 mth and 12 mth clothes
- Wears a size 3 diaper
- 7.5 teeth
- Says "Dada" and "Mama" but not really specific as to whom it gets said to
- He has a noise for the kitties and he loves them. The noise scares the kitties :)
- Still napping 2 times a day and goes to bed at 730pm - 6/630am!
- Love to read with us.
- Loves bath time and still loves to splash like crazy
- Loves to open and close door and cabinets. Sometimes he'll take items out of the cabinet and put it back in. Just like Mom and Dad!
- Loves the washing machine and helping us do laundry. He sits on top of the washing machine (with us making sure he doesn't fall) and rotates the knob. When he hears the water start to fill, if he's not already there, he crawls right over and needs UP to see :)
Helping Dada with laptop

Before I forget, here's what he's up to:
- Wears size 3 diapers (we just switched to Target brand to save some $$)
- Wears size 9, 9-12, and almost 12 month clothes. There are some 6 and 6-9 clothes that still fit, but not many. Adrian is long and lean like Dada!
- He's entered his "Dada" phase where everything and everyone is Dada.
- Baby jabbers
- Crawling everywhere
- Fell down the stairs for the first time, but was a champ and only had to cry for a bit. No injuries, just scared him.
- Getting really good at pulling himself up to a standing position.
- Ticklish!
- Best laugh ever! (I may be biased here, but it's one of the best sounds)
- Feeds himself his bottle and now eats Cherios, baby puffs, and other self-fed snacks.
- Thinks he needs to eat when we eat.
We loved it. Different from our previous beach vacations but great none the less. We chose to stay on Denver time rather than fight the time-change with Adrian. We spent our vacation relaxing and quickly settled into a groove. Every morning, we'd eat a quick breakfast of eggs, then head off to the beach with an hour before nap time. Adrian loved playing in the sand, surf, and the foot-washing area.

After his first morning at the beach he was hooked! The second day he immediately started crawling towards the ocean and wanted to play. We quickly learned that his favorite part was washing off afterwards. They have a foot washing station that is just his size to stand in the running water. We'd wash him off and head back to the unit for a better bath and nap. Sadly, Richard still had school work to do while in Mexico, so he stayed in the unit with Adrian, and I went either back to the beach or pool to get some reading in.

After his nap was lunch time followed by pool play time. By the end of the trip, he had mastered blowing bubbles and loved his pool time. Sadly, another nap was needed every afternoon, but we always had a good dinner with the family.

10 Month Stats:
- Wears size 3 diapers
- Wears size 6, 6-9, 9, and 12 month clothes. He's slender (like Dada) so 6 month oneies still fit. Anything with pants and arms are too short now.
- Naps 2 times a day
- Started swim lessons!! Nov 17 and he loves it!
- 4 teeth - 2 top, 2 bottom. Working on another top tooth.
- Loves eating! Not great at feeding himself, but we're working on that.
- 11/17 - had a reaction to yogurt... eye swelled shut. So we won't be trying it again anytime soon.

That's it for now, I'll add some more later.Sarahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00478119679805898381noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4499799243729942508.post-82190292191251918182012-11-16T11:36:00.001-07:002012-11-16T11:36:26.807-07:009 Months!Today, our little man is 40 weeks old! (Thanks to the weekly emails otherwise I wouldn't know the week count!) Which means, he's almost been outside as long as he was inside. Since he was a week late, we'll celebrate that next week... by taking him to Mexico. Just kidding, we're going for Thanksgiving!

I missed the 8 month old post. But I have a list of things Adrian was doing at 8 months and I'll just combine 8 and 9 months into one post.

A few weeks prior to Halloween, we went to the pumpkin patch near us (an annual tradition) and picked out the pumpkins. A got the play in the dirt, explore pumpkins, and overall have a great time!
Halloween 2012 = awesome! I had not been this excited for Halloween in a while. My mom made Adrian's costume and as usual, she's amazing!! Adrian was a dragon! We worked on his "ROAR" for weeks and he got pretty good at it, but didn't share it with anyone on Halloween.
Adrian is 7 months and I cannot believe how quickly the time has gone. On one hand, I can't believe he is already 7 months, but on the other hand it seems like he's been here forever. I don't know what we did before he was in our lives. I'll warn you, this is a little picture heavy as I've included some favorites from his 6 month photo shoot!

This past month has been interesting to say the least. He has gotten away from sleeping through the night and is battling eczema. The day after (no joke) his 6 month appointment, he woke up with his right ear red and swollen. Luckily our doc has Saturday hours so we took him right in. Adrian had scratched his ear and the scratch became infected... first antibiotics. Due to the severity of his eczema, our doc recommended many items and gave us a prescription for Atopiclair. It's an expensive non-steroidal cream that we now put on 4 times a day. We also give him a daily (or every other day) bath in luke warm water with no soap, don't dry him and put on the Atopiclair as soon as he's out. Then us Aveeno Eczema Cream all over. We're seeing improvements, but it's a long road. Last week he was diagnosed with weeping eczema which is when his skin looks wet, so back to the doc. Our doctor said when it's really dry out, people with eczema have flare ups and he gave us another prescription to use on just the weeping areas. Poor baby! Adrian is a trooper and really doesn't get too mad when he doesn't feel well - he just becomes lethargic. We could tell something was wrong, but we wasn't all out screaming. Good news - he's back to himself so we know he feels better.

He also cut his first tooth on Sept 3 2012! The bottom center left tooth. (Update - 9/10/12 - got his 2nd tooth!) Now he wakes up at night needing a teething tablet and his paci to help his gums. But he goes back to bed pretty quickly.

Not awesome - he does not enjoy taking his 5ml twice a day and Mom and Dad do not enjoy that it's a bright orange color. Who decided that bright orange was a good idea for a color of medicine that infants will drool out, spit out, and otherwise make a mess of??
Thanks Nanasita for the 6 Month B-day Excersaucer! I love it!!

Onto bigger better moments, Adrian weighed in at 16lbs 8ozs (30%) and is 28.5 inches long (99%)! Doctor said he looks great other than the eczema. He's got it all over and it looks terrible. Our doctor recommended adding water softener to his bath water (Calgon), and its starting to show improvement. We also need to lather on a lotion to help. Until then, Little Man will be wearing long sleeves and pants so he doesn't itch his skin too much. Of course Friday at the doctor's office, he was fine and woke up Saturday with his right ear looking bad - so back to the office. Our doctor thinks that Adrian was itching his ear due to the eczema, opened the skin and the bacteria got in to cause a staff infection.

6 months = solid food and Adrian LOVES it! He was definitely ready for the rice cereal and leans forward to "help" you feed him. He also tries to grab the bowl cause we are way to slow at getting the good stuff into his mouth. He still is thrusting (pushing out with his tongue first), but getting much better each time. We've noticed a huge improvement from Friday night to Sunday night. Here are some pics from the first feeding
- Loves his monkey
- Loves playing peek-a-boo with Dada
- Jabbers all the time.
- Makes raspberry noises and says mamamamama
- Sleeps 10-10.5 hours at night. Goes to bed between 730/8pm and wakes up at 6am. Usually he sleeps through the night, but being sick and shots always mess that up for a few nights.
- Generally gets in two, 2 hour naps: 9-11am and 2-4pm
- He eats 8-10 oz at 6am, 2-3 oz at 830am, 10 oz at 1230pm, 2-3 oz at 430pm and 6-10oz at 630pm (28-36 ounces of milk throughout the day)
- Adrian is fussy from about 5-6pm everyday
- Loves being outside (we try to take him outside during fussy time)
- Adrian got his own pool in the last month and he loves to sit and splash a little everyday. We love it b/c it helps to cool him down.
- Puts weight on his legs and will "stand" with help from us
- If there is a TV on in the room he's in, he'll find it. Richard and I are mean and don't let him watch it yet, with the exception of some Olympic coverage.
- Still a great baby! Only fusses when something is wrong and stops when we've fixed it (excluding from 5-6pm daily).
- Loves to "read" the paper with Dada
- Still adores the cats! If they are in the room with us, Adrian will only pay attention to them. He's started grabbing

Adrian has changed our lives in every way imaginable, but we couldn't love him more!
